News & Notice

1. 저희 연구진이 국제생태복원학회 (SER)와 마이크로소프트 사의 주관으로 새로운 연구펀딩을 (약 1억1천만원) 성공적으로 획득하였습니다. 연구 프로젝트 제목은 "관악산 생물종다양성 증진 및 침입외래식물 관리를 위한 최적의 제거 및 자생식물 복원의 적용"입니다.

We successfully secured a new research funding from SER (Society of Ecological Restoration), partner with Microsoft company (amount 80,000 USD or about 110,000,000 won for three years from May 1 2024 to April 30 2027). The project title is "Application of optimal eradication and native plant restoration methods to control an invasive plant and improve native biodiversity in Gwanaksan Mountain, Republic of Korea".

1. 변채호 지도교수가 국립안동대학교 생명과학과 부교수로 승진하였습니다.

Prof. Byun was promoted to an Associate Professor at Andong National University.

1. 방문교수로 있는 Jane 교수가 학과 세미나를 개최하였습니다.

Prof. Jane presented her research topics about "How evolutionary processes shape invasive palnts and their functional traits" in the department seminar.

We sow seed mixtures to initiate a new pot experiment about invasive Hypochaeris radicata.

Prof. Jane Molofsky in the Department of Plant Biology at University of Vermont (USA) joined our lab now as Full bright visiting program (funding supported) as a visiting professor. We welcome her with warmest heart then.

A student (Injun Hwang) joined our lab as a undergraduate student intern - welcome!

Prof. Byun and Dr. Kripal Singh successfully delivered a talk, in the SER conference (Society of Ecological Restoration) in Darwin city, Australia and received a lots of attentions and questions.

We are recruiting student research assistants now. For undergraduate student, salary of 400 $ per month will be provided. And, for graduate student of master degree, salary of 1000~1600 $ per month will be provided when conditions are satisfied.

1. 변채호 교수가 영국생태학회에서 단풍잎돼지풀 실험에 대한 발표를 하였습니다.

Prof. Byun presented a talk about Ambrisia trifida experiment in British Ecological Society conference annual meeting. 

1. 변채호 교수의 과거 박사 논문  한편이 BRIC 한빛사 (한국을 빛낸 사람들)에서 상위피인용 논문으로 소개되었습니다.

Prof. Byun's paper was introduced as a highly cited paper in a website of BRIC, Korean biological community

1. 변채호 교수가 한국생태환경과학협회의 학술발표대회에서 핑크뮬리 실험에 대한 발표를 하였습니다.

Prof. Byun presented a talk about Pink Muhly experiment in Korean Ecological Society conference. 

1. 가시박에 대한 야외 실험 설치 (안동시 임하면)가 성공적으로 완료되었습니다. 실험은 내후년까지 진행될 예정입니다.

Our field experiment about Sicyos angulatus was successfully installed in Andong. The experiments will be monitored until 2024. 

1. 양미역취와 단풍잎돼지풀에 대한 야외 실험 설치 (부산 대저생태공원)가 성공적으로 완료되었습니다. 실험은 내후년까지 진행될 예정입니다.

Our field experiments about Solidago altissima and Ambrosia trifida were successfully installed in Busan. The experiments will be monitored until 2024. 

1. 가시박에 대한 실험 논문이 Oecologia 저널에 최종 Accept 되었습니다. 축하드립니다.

Our experimental paper about Sicyos angulatus was accepted in the Oecologia journal. Congratulation!

1. Dr. Kripal Singhj 박사가 저희 연구실 박사후연구원(포닥)으로 곧 들어올 예정입니다. 환영합니다!

Dr. Kripal Singh will join our lab as a postdoctoral researcher - welcome!


1. 우리 연구실의 2022년도 첫 온실 실험인, 단풍잎돼지풀에 대한 선점효과 실험 설치가 성공적으로 마무리 되었습니다. ^^

    Our first 2022 greenhouse experiment about priority effects on Ambrosia trifida was successfully installed.


2. 이장호 학생이 저희 연구실 학부 인턴 과정으로 들어왔습니다. 환영합니다.

A student (Jangho Lee) joined our lab as an undergraduate intern - welcome!

1. 우리 연구실의 첫 실험 논문인, 미국쑥부쟁이에 관한 논문이 Plant Ecology 저널에 Accept 되었습니다. 축하합니다.

    "Canopy cover size and establishment rate determine biotic resistance to Aster pilosus invasion: a priority effect"

Our first experimental paper about Aster pilosus was accepted in the Plant Ecology journal. Congratulation!


2. 한국연구재단 중견연구과제에 선정되어 (과제명: 생태계 교란 식물 관리와 생물종다양성 보전을 위한 씨앗 기반 자생식물복원 연구) 향후 5년간 연간 1억2천만원의 연구 펀딩을 확보하였습니다. 축하합니다.

Research project funding of "Seed mixtures-based restoration of native plants for invasive plant management and biodiversity conservation" was acquired from National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) grant funded by the Korean government (MSIT). Funding amount: about 100,000 USD$ per year for five years! Congratulation!

Dr. Norul Sobuj will join our lab as a postdoctoral researcher - welcome!

1. 가시박을 대상으로 하는 또 다른 온실 실험이 잘 마무리 되었습니다.
최종조사결과, 흥미로운 실험 결과를 얻었고, 생태학 분야 상위 SCI 학술지인 Oecologia에 논문을 투고 중입니다.
An experiment was successfully completed. We found interesting results from this experiment and submitted its paper to Oecologia, a high level SCI journal in the field of ecology. 


1. 강화도 갯벌에서 침입외래종인 영국갯끈풀을 조절하기 위한 야외 실험 설치가 완료되었습니다. 

A new field experiment was setup to manage Spartina anglica, an invasive plant in tidal mud flat in Ganghwa island. 

1. 변채호 교수의 그동안 논문들이 1000회 인용을 달성하였습니다.

Prof. Byun's published articles received 1,000 citations by peer ecologists (estimated by Google). 

1. 새로운 세가지 화분 실험이 온실에 설치가 완료되었습니다. 물이 자동으로 화분에 공급될 것입니다.

New three pot experiments were set up in two green house facilities. Water will supply to all pots automatically.

A PhD student (Wonhyeop Shin) joined our lab as a research collaborator - welcome!

2. 핑크뮬리라는 식물을 대상으로 이들의 생태계에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험이 2021-22년에 진행될 예정입니다.

A new experiment about the effect of Muhlenbergia capillaris (Pink Muhly Grass) on native plant communities will be conducted in 2021-23.

1. 실험을 위한 식물생태학 연구실 전용 온실 건축이 완료되었습니다.

A new green house for plant ecology experiments was built successfully.
