Who We Are

All About Us

The Army & Navy Union, U.S.A is the oldest veterans organization in our country. Under the leadership of Peter Lacher, Louis Renkert and George Russell Downs, they founded an organization open to ALL who had served honorably in the armed forces or who were still in uniform.  It was founded in 1886 and incorporated on March 31, 1888. Its fundamental object is to continue national defense and national security. In addition, to promote, foster, encourage and perpetuate fraternal comradeship among all those who have seen honorable service in the Armed Forces of the United States; to continue the high ideals of patriotism, loyalty, justice, and service to this country and to educate all others in these principles. Equally important is the imperative duty upon every member upholding, guarding and protecting the honor and integrity of our constitution, our national government, our flag and the principles it represents. Lastly, to maintain constant vigilance against forces foreign or domestic, that might have as their intentions the destruction of our present form of government through violence, sabotage, or subversive activities.

Garrison #302 is Delaware's only Army & Navy Union unit.  Formed in 2014 by Dean Dyer (SFC, USA Retired) and Timothy Gantzhorn (SSG, DEARNG) with a vision to add our nation's oldest veterans organization to the resources enjoyed by our state's veterans and those still serving.
