My first meal cooked in my Presto stainless steel 4 qt pressure cooker. Pulled Beef Stew Place 2 lbs beef top round roast on rack in 4 quart pressure cooker. Stir together 1 1/2 cups water and 1/2 pkg McCormick Slow Cookers Savory Pot Roast seasoning. Pour over roast. Add one large unpeeled onion, cut in half. Cover, bring to pressure. Adjust to "soft rock" and set timer for 40 min. While the beef cooks, cut up vegetables into 1 1/2" to 2" cubes. I used 3 stalks celery, two potatoes, 6 carrots, 1 rutebaga, 1 parsnip, 1 turnip (I buy these conveniently prepackaged at Butera, my local grocery store). Add one large unpeeled onion, cut in half. Chop a handful of parsley. Set aside. Turn off pressure cooker when timer goes off. Let cool naturally. Take roast out and set on cutting board. Remove tough outer onion skins. Add vegetables to cooker, close lid and bring to pressure. Turn off and let cool naturally. While the vegetables cook, pull threads of beef with fork or cut with knife into small hunks. Place pulled beef pieces into 2nd pot. Add a 14.5 oz can of "Del Monte Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes with Garlic and Olive Oil". Cook on low heat while waiting for vegetables. When vegetables have cooled enough so lid can be removed, remove tough onion skins. Add pulled beef and tomatoes to cooker. Mix well. Enjoy.

After sauteing the mushrooms and onions for about five minutes (5 minutes for the onion and garlic; then another 5 minutes after you add the mushrooms, basil and thyme), some diced tomatoes and beef broth were added to the mix and allowed to simmer for 5-10 minutes... After a few minutes it begins to smell great - enveloping the whole house. Once this was done, you tossed in the browned meat, some sliced carrots and some potatoes. And crank up the pressure cooker to high for 35-40 minutes. (I cooked it for 50 minutes, probably a little too long). Pretty simple. And tasty.
