About Antika

She had experiences three years in practice as an Interior Designer. Currently she works as a lecturer in the school of Interior-Architectural Design at the KMITL, Bangkok.

Her academic interest focuses on the interplay between the role of disabled people and accessibility in built environments as well as the role of local disabled people in terms of negotiating and changing their disabling environments.

Her PhD thesis concerned with the social construction of disability and the resistance concept in the way disabled people seek to overcome their social and physical barriers. Through this research, Antika much learns from disabled research participants by adopting participatory research method. The thesis also employed multiple methods comprised of qualitative and quantitative tools. Her work also invites the readers rethinking the role of disabled people in academic research as a co-producer rather than the research source of information. This thesis was under the viva examination by Professor of Geography, Rob Imrie (PhD) from King's College London and Dr. Tim Townshend, the internal examiner.
