About Me

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their guidelines and ethical framework. I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, which means that I integrate a range of theoretical models and techniques. I draw on psychodynamic, humanistic and systemic theories in order to look at your past, present and the way you interact and relate to others. Occasionally, if a quick shift is required I may use CBT to change negative thinking patterns.

I work on a 1:1 basis in a calm and relaxed therapy room. I have a warm and empathic approach and I will not judge or criticise you or tell you what to do. What you tell me remains confidential.

My experience includes working as a school counsellor in two comprehensive schools in Essex, working for a children’s charity and in private practice with couples and individuals.

I have a particular interest in couple counselling (including pre-wedding counselling), childhood abuse and anger management but am also experienced in working with a range of other difficulties including, depression, parenting and family issues, stress, affairs and betrayal, divorce and separation, work related issues, lack of confidence and self esteem, and shame and guilt.

My qualifications include:
  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Level 4) MBACP
  • Adv Diploma in Integrative Counselling (incl Couple Counselling) Dip Couns (adv)
  • Certificate in Supervision
  • Family Therapy (1st year)
  • Diploma in NLP Dip PNLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
  • I am also a qualified Dispensing Optician
