Growing up on a farm in Michigan, I have been interested in outdoor activities all my life. Gardening, birding, watching butterflies, and hiking are some of my hobbies. I am available to present programs on native plants, birds, or butterflies and to lead nature hikes.

The next Metropolis Garden Club Meeting will be held on Monday, October 10, 9:30 a.m. Hosting will be Audrey Williams and Anne Parmley. Program will be Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins! with Audrey and Anne.


On Saturday, October 15, from 9 a.m. until noon, the Massac Nature Study Society will participate in the annual Cache River Fall Migration Mini Sit. We will meet in the same location as last year: Cache River Lower Access, off Perks Road. Please register for this event: https://extension.illinois.edu/events/2022-10-15-fall-migration-mini-sit#:~:text=A%20%E2%80%9Cmini%2Dsit%22%20is,lunch%20to%20enjoy%20the%20event. Click on the red "Register by October 11" link. There will be a "bring your own lunch" picnic at the Wetlands Center following the Mini Sit to discuss observations. Registration is required by October 11. Anyone with an interest in nature is welcome to join us.
