Arts and Sciences

'Our "Arts & Sciences" are the crafts, skills, and technologies from the time period and cultures that the SCA covers. Participants research, study, and practice these skills and then share their results with others. You will see them in use and on display at our events - the recipes used for a feast, the armor worn in combat, the scrolls presented in Court, and the costumes (garb) we wear, just to name a few.'  Arts & Sciences Device
Our Mistress of Arts & Sciences is Lady Freydis Egilsdottir; you can reach her at ArtsAndScience@LocalSCA.com.

A great resource is the A&S page of the SCA Society website.

Check out some of the projects our members have worked on by clicking "Projects" below, and see more details and pictures!

Clockwise from upper left: Baby garb made by Lady Valonia for Baby Drake, himself made by Lord Almaric and Maeve (two period projects in one!); Norman shoes made by Lord Almaric; Norse round shield constructed and painted by Lord Mikhail, and designed by Freydis and Mikhail; a triptych screen for hiding the Stronghold's coffee urn, made by Lady Freydis; and Gold Key's sideless surcoat, made by Lady Freydis and modelled by the lovely Cassandra.
