2016 01 20: Weekly Meeting (long version)

An unusually intense meeting as we were discussing the bid for hosting a Baronial camping event this August long weekend, which needs to be into curia by Sunday morning.

In attendance: five adults, five kids. Freydis stitched her shoes back together with lovely new matching thread (the dental floss originally used held up well but was finally wearing out, and never really matched the brown leather anyways). Greg worked on the trim on his over-tunic, getting it to lay just right over the neck, which was trickier than it first looked. Mikhail, Ulrich, and Almaric focussed on hammering out details of the event: costs, requirements, draws. The end result should allow us to get the paperwork put together in time for the quarterly curia meeting.

Ideas for events between now and then were also discussed.

Once Spring arrives (defined as "The snow has melted from Ulrich's field and the ground is no longer frozen,"), we will start having work parties to prepare the site. One of the first things that will be done is ploughing it, to even it out and turn unwanted plants like thistles under. After that it will need to be raked smooth (particularly the camping area and the Erik), and loose rocks collected. These will be used to build the fire pit, amongst other things. Outhouses will also have to be built and pits for them dug.

All in all, we figure we should have lots of time to complete what we need, provided we get a half-decent turnout of say at least six bodies per work party. These will probably be on Saturdays, but we'll announce more specific times and dates once we get closer to Thaw.

Tags for identifying authorized Stronghold fighters, probably in some form of embroidery/cross-stitch were also discussed and a basic pattern worked out. Remember, the sooner you're authorized, the lower your number!

A very good and productive meeting. Next one will be at someone's house; location T.B.A.
