Snow Day!! We got a lovely winter storm rolling through to cover up our beautiful green lawns, very blustery and cold, with over a foot of snow, and blowing, stinging ice pellets. Unsurprisingly, most of our regulars opted to not freeze to death in a snow bank on their way over.

However, we did have one intrepid soul join us for tunic-making: a friend of Mikhail's, recently returned for a few months to Greenwood. Hello, Greg!

So: Three adults, two kids in attendance. Greg almost finished his under-tunic; it just needs cuffs and a hem, and ought to easily be done in time for the feast (assuming any of us will manage to make the journey to Halifax in a few days; the weather will have to improve substantially).

Freydis finished sewing Mikhail's shoes, with ambivalent results. Mikhail "supervised" them (and made helpful suggestions), and spent the latter half of the evening with his feet encased in wet leather to get the shoes to conform more nicely to his feet.

Apparently there's a pro-tip to making the duct tape shoe patterns, and that is to make sure that the sock fits well, and isn't too tight over the foot, as if it is, then it tends to pull away from the duct tape as you pull your foot out, and then the newly-bared sticky surface sticks to itself, and then it's all downhill from there.

And that happened here. I  thought I'd gotten it straightened out, but apparently not completely.

However, Mikhail's feet fit into them so we will see what the end result of wearing wet leather bags is. It ought to be interesting, anyways!
