Saturday afternoon at House Ravenspeak. Almaric joined Mikhail for an afternoon of marking, cutting out, and rolling las, and finishing knee cops. Three of the cops are fully dished and welded, with the welds in various stages of finishing, and about half the las are rolled and ready to go.

Pictured below: Mikhail's original finished, painted knee on the left in the foreground; the three unpainted cops progress from left to right. Behind them you can see the few remaining undished cops, and the C-shaped rolled las.

Almaric rolls las:

Another look at the welded cops:

Freydis meanwhile dedicated herself to finishing the pattern for Mikhail's shoes. We decided to make his shoes out of a very lovely orange Naugahyde. Ha! No. We had some kicking around that is too ugly to use for anything but finalizing leather patterns; but it is very good for that (and so ugly we don't feel bad about hacking it into little bits). Here Mikhail is, modelling the final pattern.

And with the toggle flaps held closed:

Freydis has since got the pieces  cut out of actual leather, and got one shoe just about finished; it now just needs toggles and loops. The other shoe is fighting back a bit but at least is not orange Naugahyde.

Good progress made all round!
