 The Society for Creative Anachronism

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our “Known World” consists of 20 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.

The East Kingdom

The East Kingdom is a part of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA), a not-for-profit educational organization which studies the Middle Ages by recreating the pastimes and crafts of the period. The East Kingdom covers Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania and New York, the New England states and eastern Canada.

The Crown Principality of Tir Mara
 
This Crown Principality represents the Canadian Provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland-Labrador. The East Kingdom, and the Crown Principality of the Northern Shores, is a part of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA), a not-for-profit educational organization which studies the Middle Ages by recreating the pastimes and crafts of the period. International in scope, our activities include tournaments, festivals, classes, feasts, and all manner of arts and sciences you would find in the culture of pre-1600s western Europe.

 The Barony of Ruantallan

The Barony of Ruantallan encompasses all of Nova Scotia and PEI as well as the Cantons of Distant Shore, Seashire and Ynys y Gwaed. We are a part of the Crown Principality of Tir Mara which encompasses all of the Canadian Provinces of the East Kingdom (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador) which is part of a larger world-wide society called the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA).

 The Canton of Distant Shore

The Canton of Distant Shore is a historical re-enactment group located in Pictou and Colchester Counties, Nova Scotia. The local group is part of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Participants dress in period clothing of different cultures that existed throughout the Middle Ages and attend events that may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, medieval court and more.

 The Canton of Seashire

The Canton of Seashire is a local group of the Society for Creative Anachronism Inc. We represent people from the Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Seashire is a canton of the Barony of Ruantallan , which is located in the Crown Principality of Tir Mara which is part of the East Kingdom.

 The Canton of Ynys y Gwaed

The Cantref of Ynys y Gwaed is a local group of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. We represent people from Prince Edward Island, Canada.

We are located within the Barony of Ruantallan, which is located in the Crown Principality of Tir Mara which is part of the East Kingdom on the shores of the Occidental Ocean.
