A Little Bit About Anji Bee

Los Angeles born Anji Bee has spent the better part of her life immersed in music. Heavily involved over the years in every form of independent and underground music movement from fanzine culture, garage bands, home recording, college radio, indie music journalism, internet music promotion, online radio, and now podcasting, Anji has pretty much seen and done it all.

Though Anji has contributed to a number of bands over the years, joining forces with Ryan Lum (of legendary Projekt Record’s act, Love Spirals Downwards) as Lovespirals remains her most rewarding experience to date. Lovespirals’ music has been featured internationally on network and cable television including: MTV, Vh1, ETV, The WB/CW Network, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Their CDs are available via iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, and many other online sources, as well as in stores via Metropolis Distribution in the US, Monitor in Hong Kong, and Noise Kontrol in Mexico.

The Internet has provided fertile ground for Anji’s skill set; as technology and bandwidth have evolved, so have her projects. Anji was there in the thick of the mp3.com revolution, creating the popular playlist station, The Lovely Ladies of Electronica, in part to promote her own music. When Live365 began their beta, Anji jumped on board with an Internet radio version of The Lovely Ladies, which later morphed into Chillcuts Radio, both to expand its’ musical scope and to tie it in with the 2005 launch of Lovespirals’ own label, Chillcuts.

In 2005 Anji initiated the Chillin’ with Lovespirals podcast, which soon led to the creation of her own radio style music podcast. The Chillcast with Anji Bee was picked up in early 2006 by the PodShow Podcast Network on the recommendation of PodShow founder, Adam Curry. This popular weekly podcast features a unique mix of podsafe Electronica, Jazz, Soul, and World music, hosted by the one-of-a-kind voice of Anji Bee.
