Orange Cardamom Oatmeal Cookies

1 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 tablespoon orange zest, finely grated

1/3 cup date syrup (or alternatively molasses)
75g (3oz) butter, melted

Preheat oven to 175C. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder, salt, cardamom and orange zest. Mix well.

In another bowl, combine date syrup and melted butter. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Heap teaspoons of the batter onto the baking sheet, leaving 2 inches of space between each other. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely. Store in airtight container.
