The Quran

The Quran is the book that includes the text of words of Allah. The words of Allah has been revealed through the angel Gabriel to the Prophet (s) over 23 years. The text has been written down during the life of the Prophet (s) and it was copied into several books shortly after the Prophet (s) death. It is organised to have 114 chapters (sura) of various size, each chapter has various number of verses, in total it has 6236 verses (ayah).

The Quran is the main miracle of the Prophet (s) and the main proof of his prophecy. It is unique in the style and does not have any grammatical or conceptual mistake. The Quran includes the constitution of Islam. It was revealed to the Prophet (s) and passed to the humanity as guidance to the right path toward Allah and the blessed eternity.

Every Muslim should read the whole Quran and understand it, in fact every person should do that. No one should understand verses of Quran as separate but as whole entity. Many verses of Quran complete each other's so no verses can be used out of its context. It is essential to learn the Prophet's(s) and Imams' (a) explanation of Quran so we are not misguided.
