I am pursuing a PhD degree in Computer Science Department at University of Southern California, under the support from Vietnam Education Foundation which is funded by U.S. government. My research interest is Artificial Intelligence, particularly in  Computer Vision area.

I am also a member of MIMAS Group, known formerly as MIMAS team, a Vietnamese company which focuses on innovative technologies in computer science area.

Previously, I received a BSc in Computer Science from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

I received the first prizes in Vietnam Talent Award 2010 and Imagine Cup Vietnam 2009.

2013now: High quality 3-D Face Modeling from a mid-res webcam
Given a mid-res video sequence targeting on the user face, we try to generate a high quality 3D face model, which can be used in face recognition and 3D face animation systems.

2012–2013: 3-D Face Tracking and Modeling from a single webcam
We developed a robust, real-time 3-D face tracking and modeling system providing accurate 6 degree-of-freedom head pose in the presence of large out-of-plane motion, strong expression changes, and partial occlusions. Our system first generates a 3-D face model from a single frontal image. We then extract uniformly distributed random points and track them in 2-D. Given these correspondences, the 3-D head pose is robustly estimated using a RANSAC-PnP process. The system also supports automatic initialization, reacquisition, and automatic pose correction. It shows excellent tracking under large motion (roll: 360, yaw: ±90, pitch: -60 to +90), occlusion, and facial expression variations.
