NEW Project!! March 2012
I have created a new activity called Web Adventures. I am creating them for 6th and 7th grade teachers at my site. Here are the two I have made for math, they are a work in progress as I have just made up the process and am seeing what works as I teach the units.

7th Grade CST Review Web Adventure

Fraction Review Web Adventure
If you have any feedback or comments on the Web Adventures please email me @ agallacher@psusd.us

Ms. Ortega (my old partner and good friend) still teaches and has all her PP's on-line go to https://sites.google.com/site/msortegas7thgrademath/file-cabineyt

Another great site is Ms. Ballard's web page (another great teacher at our site) http://sites.google.com/site/ballardmath/home

*I have updated the twilight bingo game to go with the Breaking Dawn movie (11/4/11) Here you go: https://sites.google.com/site/documentstoragelibrary/powerpoints

I am no longer a math teacher, I have become a teacher librarian at my site. I am very excited about my next stage in teaching and am looking forward to working with students in a different capacity. I will keep this site up, but will no longer be adding PP's (well maybe once and a while :). Please contact me if you have any questions!!! (agallacher@psusd.us)
Graphing Web Sites
My New Site

My oldest daughter coming home for Thanksgiving (Go NAVY)

PowerPoints below are:  Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince, and Star Terk (the new movie) and Twilight.
New PowerPoints
For all you Twilight fans, here is my lastest work of art :) This PowerPoint is on geometry and covers most of what is tested on the CST's.
I am a big Star Trek fan, so in honor of the new movie I made a "full" book review using the New Star Trek movie as my theme. Hope you like it!! I have included some cool sound effects you can add to the powerpoint, I have found that the kids love them! (To insert sound: download, right click and save taget as. Then open the powerpoint and choose Insert from menu and select movie or sound, then sound from file. Choose from auto or when clicked, I use auto for these and your done). Just added Harry Potter another CST review on things we thought our students needed to know before the BIG test :)

Graphic Organizers

For all you fans of graphic organizers I found a great site that has tons of pre-made math graphic organizers, Math Middle School Graphic Organizers, check it out!!!

Middle School Math Project: (EETT Grant) We (the seventh grade math team) are using technology in our math classrooms to improve student learning and conceptual understanding of mathematics.  As part of our grant we purchased Qwizdoms, Interwrite Pads, Laptop computers, and LCD projectors.  We are using United Streaming, Brain Pop, MicroSoft Office as well as other online resources.  We use the California Standards and Holt Mathematics: Book 2 as our main resources.  Our team is working together to create fun and interactive activities in our classrooms to engage students.  We are excited to share our progress and setbacks with other interested teachers.  Our API is 761 (up almost 51 points from last year) and our school rank is 6 state-wide (up one from last year) and 8 in simular school (up 2 from last year, these are from last year as school ranking are not out for this year yet). See California Test Results for more information. Our goal is to reach 800 in the next 5 years :).

Graphic Organizers

We are focusing on using graphic organizers, or Thinking Maps, this year in an effort to help students take better notes. A great site for math graphic orgainzers is http://www.sw-georgia.resa.k12.ga.us/GO%204-8/4-8%20GO.htm. Vocabulary is also a focus and we working to help our ELA students have a better understanding of the language of math. I am going to be creating some math graphic organizers and will post them as they are created.

Circle graphs chapter 6.1

Pick Six graphic organizer

We are developing technology activities for each chapter in the Holt Mathematics: Book 2 for 7th grade math.  Our standards are at California Math Standards Grade 7 .

All PowerPoint's will be available on this web site and movies can be accessed throughUnited Streaming.

CST Review (State Test)

These activities were created by our 7th grade team (Angie, Kim and Sue) to help prepare our students for the upcoming  state tests, we hope you find them helpful. If you have any activities to share please email us (see above for address)

I was searching the web on how to do my project.. Im a Junior in High School in Milwaukee WI. I think all teachers should have websites like this!
I have so enjoyed your web site. It has helped me tremendously. Thank you for all your efforts for your students and the opportunity my students have because of you as well.

I love this website...I am a 7th grade math teacher and I have found alot of information is helpful. Thanks for all you have done...
Hi, I just wanted you to know how much I love the powerpoints you have put together.  I absolutely love them!  A friend of mine sent me a link to your page.  I teach 7th grade math in NC.  I am especially impressed how you did your jeopardy games in powerpoint.  I have a promethean board and plan on using some of your games on that.  Thank you for all of your hard work.  What a great find!
I accidentally stumbled across your webpage and I could not believe my eyes! I am Mrs. K. Crain and I teach 7th grade math in a rural Mississippi school and we also use Holt Mathematics book 2.  You were given to me by God. I love using powerpoints and games in my class but never have time to create them. And then there was you!!! Thank you for sharing the fruits of your dedicated work.  I mean this from the very bottom of my heart!!

Your site is awesome. This year we went to 86 minute math periods and some of your ideas will help make that block more interesting. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you so much for sharing your awesome website. The powerpoints are wonderful! I plan to share your information with the math teachers in my school system (Carroll County-located in Georgia).

I just want to commend you on such a wonderful website! I love everything about it. Would you mind if I take some of you powerpoints and tweak them to fit Georgia Standards and use them in my classroom? I also want to know if I am allowed to put my versions on my school web page for my students to access. Either way, you've done a fantastic job!

Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Your website is amazing!

Great website.  Thank you for all of the resources!  It is a tremendous help for new teachers looking for ideas.

I am a first year teacher that needed lots of resources. I teach 7th special education and your powerpoints really made a big impact with my visual learners. I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful help you gave me. My students really improved from last year and I know that part of it was your wonderful website. Your website rocks ;Y.

Incredible!!!   It was serendipitous that I found your site.  I am very impressed with you, your creative website, your creative power points, your creative activities, and most of all, your unbelievable generosity.  I too am teaching Holt Course 2 for 7th grade and looking forward to trying some of your power point lessons and activities.  What kind of computer do you have???  I am looking forward to your upcoming power points designed specifically for Holt.  You are a find!!!!  Thank you!

This is my first year teaching 7th grade math in the Philadelphia School District.  I teach in a low income area that is very fortunate to have access to Promethean boards and laptop computers in the classroom.  I am always looking for ways to improve my teaching and technology is a huge part of that.  Your site is awesome!

I am the RTI Comprehensive Remediation Math teacher at a Middle School SC. My job is to fill in the gaps of my 6th,7th and 8th graders based on their performance on our state's standardized test.  I am always looking for ways to review with them. I found your website especially helpful to assist my 8th graders (filling in 7th grade gaps)

Thank you for all your hard work- and know that there is a small classroom in SC that loves your powerpoints and jeopardy games.  I love the fact that I don't have to recreate the wheel <grin>

Thank you so much for the website and all the activities and suggestions you have posted there!  I only wish I had found it at the beginning of the school year instead of the end of the year!
I've been teaching a very long time and it's time I updated my approach to teaching 7th graders!  They get pretty bored with ol' Ms A....this will really help spice things up for them!
Thank you!

I was searching the internet for some slope activities when I happened upon your website.  Wow!!!  It is awesome.  I have added it to my favorites for easy access.
Thanks so much,

Thank you for sharing all your wonderful powerpoints and  games. I am the Curriculum Resource Teacher at my school here in SC and have been sharing with my teachers as well as others in my district. I will be back in the 7th grade math classes teaching 2 periods a day. I look forward to sharing these with my students

I am a 7th grade math, first year teacher and have found your website SOO useful. I modify and use resources from it all the time. I just wanted to send you a very special thank you.  Again, thank you so much for sharing!

I'm a 7th grade math teacher in Palmdale, CA. I was searching for some math PowerPoints and came across your web site. It's awesome!!!!!!

I have checked out your website many times, and I just wanted to say that you do a wonderful job of integrating technology and making activities fun for your students.  I just looked at your twilight bingo.  I am sure the kids will love that.  We have such a big twilight following at our school, as I am sure you do too.   I teach in Gloucester County, VA- 7th grade and 8th grade math.

Angie - as a new teacher, I find your site hard to live without!!!   You have helped me so much.

I just wanted to let you know I love your web page!!  This is my second year of teaching and I am looking for different (and fun) ways to teach 7th grade math.

I was very impressed with the slideshow presentations of your math lessons.  They are very thoughtful, and well designed so that students can learn the material in easily digested steps.  I am very impressed that each lesson seems to end with a short quiz of five problems.  This models the way that I teach as well.  The quiz ends the lesson as a reinforcement.

Thank you for your site. I have tutoring my daughter and have used your site as my own tutorial.

I don't remember how I got to your web site but it is very good.  I have wanted to do a jeopardy game but never have taken the time to develop them.  Thank You, your games gives me a head start and can easily be modified

Hello!  I teach 7th grade math in Texas . I have been using many of your resources all year long and I love them!  I'm a first year teacher, so your site has been a great source of information.  No sense recreating the wheel, right?  :-)

My name is Cynthia, and I came across your website while searching for jeopardy games.  I was extremely impressed with all the information you have and the organization with which you have your lessons.  I have found many useful ideas, and I wanted to thank you for all the great web links you have on your page.

I was searching the internet for math resources and came across your website, which is totally awesome!

I absolutely love your website and am grateful for your sharing!

Thank you so much for the awesome powerpoints. You have made teaching 7th grade math enjoyable for teachers and fun for students. I really appreciate all of your hard work!

Hi! I absolutely love your class webpage and have already placed it under "my favorites"!

I'm a seventh grade math teacher in Texas.  You site has been very inspirational for me and has motivated me to integrate some games and technology into my classroom.

Hi Mrs. Gallacher,  my name is Robyn and I am a brand new teacher this year... I was hired by my school district just one day before school started (last Wednesday) I stumbled upon your web site a couple of nights ago as I was scrambling to get some things put together for my class.  The information you have available is perfect for what I need.
