Summer 2017 CIVITAS Internship

In the summer of 2017 I interned for a non profit organization that works with my school and with others organizations to help and improve the urban life of our built environment and waterfront access along the Manhattan esplanade. During my internship,I was assigned to conduct research on why there were more than usual vacant lots from 60th street to 96th street, I was later assigned to make a google map to pinpoint exactly where the lots were located, after revising the data it was concluded and supported by facts that theirs a high rent crunch causing local businesses to close shop. This data and information is published in the CIVITAS Newsletter which goes into full depth.
