Teaching experience

Teaching methods

My courses are based on lectures with a high degree of student active learning (e.g. discussions, experiments, group work, quizzes, etc.), student-centered seminars, laboratory exercises and demonstrations, and field work components including teaching cruises onboard research vessels. I employ a variety of assessment methods (formative & summative) to enhance learning. I am competent in in person and online teaching on a range of platforms and actively use online class room management systems to provide course material ranging from lecture slides to short summaries of class content with self-produced videos and student activities.
