Matsuev Piano Concert
I tightly shut my eyes, refusing
To look for sense in wars we wage.
The grand piano, stripped of music,
Became a coffin on the stage.
His flailing fingers struck the frail
Piano keys without restraint,
But it was all to no avail,
As cemetery silence reigned.
