"You on my chest..."

You - on my chest, as if

We couldn’t get any nearer.

Interest and disbelief,

As if it’s myself in the mirror,

As if, detached from myself

And moving without permission,

I’m arching my back to delve

Into all that comes into vision,

As if, between us, the bend

Of space-time became distorted,

Our features began to blend

And decades became disordered,

Ecstasy mixed with grief –

How did I live without

You? You - on my chest, as if

I’m on your chest, sprawled out.
