Alphabet Poetry

Mama gave me As for lunch -

They were juicy and they crunched!

B’s the game I play in gym class,

Where I dribble, shoot and pass.

C is playful, won’t sit still,

Jumping on the windowsill.

D despises C, and C

Feels the same for D, you see.

E’s huge ears spread in the sky

Like a giant butterfly.

Fs, inside their home of glass,

Look stretched out as they pass.

On a farm, I sometimes sit

With a little G, called kid.

I’ve gone far by land and sea,

But H is where the H should be.

Far up north, an eskimo

Builds an I out of the snow.

For a quick snack on the way

Nothing beats PB&J.

K is fluttering up high

Like a diamond in the sky .

During autumn, Ls turn gold

And they shiver in the cold

M, like D, does not like C,

Who is on a hunting spree.

N approaches me, - I cringe -

Is she holding her syringe?!

Mommy cries when cutting O, -

Why so sad? I do not know.

Ps are full of words that rhyme,

And I write them all the time.

Q is seated with the king,

Overlooking everything.

Rs love carrots which is good -

They’re a very healthy food.

I am scared, I must confess,

Of a squiggly, squirmy S.

Ts have teeth that I must say

Are better viewed from far away.

Clouds have gathered in the sky? –

Us will help us to stay dry!

Stroke the bow against the V

For the sweetest melody.

W weighs many tons -

I have seen its tail once!

When you play with sticks and stones.

Doc takes Xs of your bones.

Drop the Y and it’ll come back,

If its string is not too slack.

You can see E, S, and T,

On your visit to the Z.
