She swaps a “yesterday” for a “tomorrow”

and no one notices. The clocks are fast,

too fast for anyone to keep the score of

all that that is coming and all that’s passed.

-“What did you do tomorrow, grandpa?”

-“I’ll come to Boston to see my baby.

I told you Thursday. Don’t you remember?”

-“No, no, ‘tomorrow’ that’s passed already.”

Last week’s “tomorrow” has passed already,

today’s “tomorrow’s” not far behind…

Today, - his "baby,” tomorrow – “lady,”

a few more days – he's old and blind.
