RESEARCH INTERESTS

Signal analysis of EEG and MEG

Experience using custom built MATLAB software with time-frequency analysis, topography, event-related averaging, independent component analysis and other basic techniques, in the Neurophysiology Unit of the University of Patras (since 2006). [MSc Thesis, Publications 2-7, Announcements 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9-14]

Brain rhythms in sleep and epilepsy

Research on human brain EEG rhythm interactions during normal sleep and their relation to epileptic syndromes, as the subject of the PhD thesis (since 2009) under the supervision of Prof. George K. Kostopoulos. [Publications 4-7, Announcements 3, 4, 9, 10, 12, 14]

Epilepsy Surgery

Use of EEG and ECoG in the context of presurgical evaluation as a means to identify the epileptogenic zone. Clinical experience in epilepsy surgery centers (2008-2009). [Announcements 8, 11, 13]

Neuron modeling: Single-cell and network models, Synaptic plasticity

Experience with simple leaky integrator models in the context of the MSc in Neuroinformatics (2006).

Fuzzy Logic and Artificial Intelligence

Work with fuzzy logic for decision support systems in the context of the MSc in Neuroinformatics in collaboration with the department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras (2006). [Publication 1]
