I am a Professor in Economics at the University of Stavanger Business School. I completed my Bachelor and Master degrees at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and obtained my Ph.D. at Stockholm University. I have since also been an academic visitor at the University of Chicago and the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) in London.
My research focuses mainly on how new technology and international trade affect modern economies. I am particularly interested in the effect on aggregate productivity, the wage structure and firm dynamics. I study for example the impact of broadband internet, intermediation in international trade, outsourcing, arms trade and the economy of China.
I am currently a Co-Editor of Labour Economics.
