Welcome !!!!
Human diseases are abnormal conditions that affect the body and mind. Infection caused by microbes and cancer are often considered as top ten deadliest diseases in humans. The positive progress in medical science has find solution through new drug discovery against the deadliest diseases. But the modern medicine has facing new difficulties in terms of drug resistant, where the drugs become ineffective in treating microbes or cancerous conditions. Hence, there is an urgent demand for novel intervention to tackle the drug resistant problems. Our laboratory aims to build an integrated approach involving biophysical chemistry with nanotechnology to combat microbes responsible for infectious diseases and develop innovative strategies to target cancerous cells. Our research mainly focuses on understanding the molecular level interactions of designed molecules with membranes to develop membrane actives.
Additionally, we are interested in developing organic molecules and nanomaterials for detecting hazardous ions leached into the environment from industrial and domestic waste. We are also interested in evaluating the toxicity of the nanomaterials.
Our group consists of people from various disciplines like chemistry, biotechnology, and medical nanotechnology. The lab is well equipped to conduct research on chemical biology.
We always welcome motivated researchers to our group with a passion to explore science.
With best regards
V. Anbazhagan
