Ana Maria da Conceição Ferreira Takahashi

Chemical Engineering, PhD

Over the past few years, I have become fascinated with developing sustainable and integrated processes for extracting and purifying compounds. I enjoy challenges, innovation, and transformation, which have led me to work and study outside of Portugal, at international universities. My goal is to use science to improve people's quality of life by developing more cost-effective extraction and purification platforms, while also considering environmental impact. All the processes I work with have in common the use of eco-friendly solvents such as ionic liquids (ILs), deep eutectic solvents (DESs), biosolvents, and zwitterion analogs of ILs (ZIs).
