Real-Time Performance Data

After the Solar Array is installed, it is important to keep track of how well it performs over it's 25+ year life.  If a grid-tie solar array stops producing for some reason (eg. an inverter shuts down), there is normally no drama since the utility grid will continue to provide power to the school.  Thus, a data logger is installed to help monitor the system performance.   Data collected from the solar array is sent real-time via the internet to an accessible website.  For the school facility manager, there are alarm settings that will provide an email or text alert if solar performance drops below expected values.  For students, teachers, parents, and community members the website allows for study of daily, monthly, and annual energy production compared with estimated performance.

At Analy High School, there are 2 distinct Solar Arrays—

1. Student Parking Lot, 2. Tech Shop
