A little test I've done to see how a fun fur wind screen affects the frequency response of my portable recording device. The test involved me placing the recorder, on axis, in front of one of my studio monitors and then playing 5 seconds of white noise. This test was done twice, once with the fur and once without. The picture is a spectrum analysis done in Soundforge. The blue lines are with the fur the green is without and the red is the control white noise file. You can see that the response is very similar with and without the fur. The big difference occurs below 50Hz where the fur causes a roughly 7db/octave cutoff
