The Wings of a Butterfly 252/365
I had no idea what to do with my day. There were so many things I could have been doing, but none of them sprung out at me. I was woken up at 12, but didn’t get up til 2pm. Said hello to everyone. After mooching around a while (I was literally wandering the house at one point, just trying to find something to do) I started tidying my room. Hugh wouldn’t help me move things under my bed, (it had a ton of things on it too, & was quite heavy) & I ended up having a little shouting match with him. He called me selfish for not doing it myself. I physically couldn't move it. How the hell am I being selfish there? It's complicated to explain, but basically, the whole bed needed to be moved further up my room, but it already had a ton of things underneath it. To be able to manouvere it properly, I had to put a lot of things onto my bed (there was no where else to put them) which then made my bed heavy. The things underneath my bed needed to be moved at the same time as my bed, or else my bed would catch on them. It was really difficult, & was a two person job. My Dad was busy cooking dinner, & asked Hugh to do it. Hugh said he would after he watched the last 10mins of a football greatest moments show. So I waited. & waited. When he finally turned up to do it, he called me selfish, said I should do it myself, & he wasn't helping. When my Dad again asked him to help, Hugh said I was selfish because if I didn't do it, then my Dad would have to do it. I said he was being selfish by not helping me. The issue was never if I was doing it - the issue was who was going to help me. Idiot. My Dad eventually intervened when he got sick of us yelling, & then Hugh did it while calling me selfish the whole time. I really don't see what his problem is After that I just went & sat with my Dad while he made dinner. He made quorn & dumplings & veg in a gravy sauce. We watched Doctor Who together – I cried a little at the end. It was The Family of Blood episode (the second one) & the whole Doctor Who & human life & having to give it up that saddened me, & then the Remembrance Day scene caused the tears. We put off dinner til it had finished, so my Dad added like a third of a bottle of red wine to the mix. He checked with me as he did it beforehand, which I thought was nice. I drink wine when I have to, so it didn't bother me. I'm not a total Nazi when it comes to alcohol. After dinner I tried to tidy some more. My Dad came in & discussed how to rearrange my room. I was reaching under my bed, simply trying to pick something up that had been left there, & I pulled a muscle in my shoulder & it hurt to turn my neck. It hurt like a bitch, actually. I had to go to my Dad & ask him to rub my neck for a while. He's so strong, & he's easily the best at massaging shoulders. While going through everything I found my Dad’s childhood cuddly toys. There was a dog called 'Mitzy'. I forgot to ask what the others were called. I watched the second part of Cranford with my parents, followed by Top 20 songs of the decade, and a little bit of the noughties show, which is basically a show where they talk about the 100 fads or influences of the decade. It's kinda interesting. Later on I showed my parents this handkerchief from 1937. It was a coronation handkerchief, with Edward on it. Seeing as he didn't get to be King in the end, I figure it's a piece of history that I should hold on to. Afterward I made popcorn with Hugh, & we watched Shrek in my room. Hugh's lost the Shrek DVD, so we had to watch it online. We'd practically eaten one bag of popcorn before the film was 30mins in, so Hugh & I went & made another. I don't think I've ever done that before. We missed the last 20mins or so of Shrek, as megavideo has a time policy & cut us off after that. So Hugh went off to play on his game, & I had the task of removing everything off my bed before I could go to sleep. 253/365
