About Me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Vanderbilt University. I am also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics.

I study applied microeconomics, including labor economics, health economics, and the economics of education. Much of my research focuses primarily on evaluating the effects of safety net programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, publicly funded family planning clinics, unemployment insurance, disability insurance, Medicaid, and universal cash transfers.
