Ana Carolina Santos

In January 2027, I will join the School of Economics at the University of Sheffield as a Lecturer in Economics. I am a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO) and the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis (RCEA). I received my PhD in Economics from Insper in 2020, with visiting periods at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University and Bocconi University.

My primary research focuses on ambiguity (Knightian uncertainty), with applications to macroeconomics and finance, and on decision theory. My Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) interests include dissertation supervision, assessment and feedback practices, active learning, and technology-enhanced teaching.

I have previously held academic positions at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, the University of Sussex, the University of Cambridge, and Insper, as well as research roles at the Policy Evaluation and Research Unit at Manchester Metropolitan University and Fundação Getulio Vargas. I also have professional experience as an investment analyst and trader in Brazil.
