Senior Concert

The Amherst College Glee Club will be performing in its final concert of the year on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 5pm in Buckley Recital Hall, The Arms Music Center. The show is free and open to public. It will include a variety of sacred and secular music, songs of other nations and spirituals, such as pieces by William Dawson, Robert Shaw, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Marshall Bartholomew and many others. The concert will conclude with the traditional “Senior Song” by James S. Hamilton (Class of 1906) and the passing of the historic senior chalice.

Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass

The Amherst College Glee Club will be performing Franz Josef Haydn's 1798 masterpiece, the “Lord Nelson Mass” in its annual collaboration with the Amherst College Choral Society and the Amherst College Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 8pm in Buckley Recital Hall, The Arms Music Center. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for senior citizens and children, and FREE for Five College students who bring an ID to the concert. More event details available here.

Vespers

The Amherst College Glee Club will be performing with the Amherst College Choral Society in its annual Vespers concert on Sunday, December 2, 2012 in two shows at 4pm and 7:30pm in Johnson Chapel. Admission is free. Further details in the Amherst College Event Calendar: 4pm, 7:30pm.

Homecoming Weekend Concert

The Amherst College Glee Club will be performing with the Amherst College Choral Society in its annual Homecoming Weekend concert on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 12pm in Buckley Recital Hall, The Arms Music Center. Festival

Autumn Leaves

On Friday, October 19, 2012, the Glee Club will perform in its annual free “Autumn Leaves” concert in Merrill 1. The repertoire will include six songs, including a few new ones. There will be Antonio's pizza and hot chocolate after the performance in the main lobby of Merrill. For details, see our Calendar.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals of the Amherst College Glee Club start on Thursday, September 6, 2012. The weekly rehearsals will be taking place on Tuesdays 7-9pm and Thursdays 9-10:30pm in Room 3 of the Arms Music Center.

Auditions

Convocation

On Monday, September 3, 2012 at 7:30pm the Glee Club and the Amherst College Choral Society will be performing in the annual Opening Convocation Ceremony (full details at Amherst College website), with an address by President Biddy Martin in the Johnson Chapel. The set will include:
  1. “Three Gifts”
  2. “Hymn to Amherst”, as composed in key of D by Henry G. Mishkin to lyrics of Janet B. Morgan
