REFLECTIONS: Have an oreo ...
O (h) onest
O n time
Some guiding questions for reflections: the WHAT I keep cursing, and the all important HOW. Think of the WHAT as the description of the piece and the HOW as the discovery of the piece.
The WHAT (describe)
What does the music sound like?
What instruments do you hear, what kind of beat, what kind of structure (verse/chorus, rhapsodic, sonata, etc)?
(If applicable) What are the lyrics that stand out most to you? What words? What ideas?
The How: (discover)
How does the sound create a feeling, tone, mood, place, storyline?
How does the music change and how does this affect the development of the piece?
How do the individual instruments influence this development? How do the instruments work together and to what end? How does the beat and structure play a role in the development of the piece?
Last, you can share what you think of the piece and how it affects you!
