Asma is the Founder and Editor-in-chief of altmuslimah.com, which is a website that addresses the gender divide.  She is also an International law attorney with D.C. based The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. Her writings have appeared in many places. 

Project Downtown
Project Downtown is an initiative started by the Muslim Students Association National Organization. Dissatisfaction with the plight of the homeless in US cities inspired the creation of this project. Students across the US gather food and supplies they collect and distribute them to the homeless in their communities every Friday.

Yusef Ramelize
Yusef is a graphic designer who lived as a homeless person for one week in Union Square Park during his "Homeless for One Week" project. He raised $3,635 in March 2009 and donated it to the Coalition for the Homeless.

UMMA Community Clinic
The UMMA Community Clinic is a free clinic that serves the uninsured in South L.A.. It was started by the Muslim community that saw a need serve those in the community lacking access to health-care. About 98% of those served in the clinic are non-Muslims.
