The American Legion is comprised of many different parts.
The American Legion of Hughesville, PA is part of the biggest veteran's service organization, that is committed to youth programs in the community, showing patriotism, honor along with promoting a strong support to current and veterans of the United States Military. To become a Legionnaire you must have served during the following times:
  • April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918 (World War I)
  • December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946 (World War II)
  • June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955 (Korean War)
  • February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975 (Vietnam War)
  • August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984 (Lebanon/Grenada)
  • December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990 (Panama)
  • August 2, 1990 to today (Gulf War/War on Terrorism)
The American Legion Auxiliary is the largest patriotic service organization with nearly 1 million women! The Auxiliary supports the Legion in honoring and improving the lives or our veterans and families, educating citizens, mentoring youth and promoting peace, citizenship and patriotism.  The Auxiliary is made up of women of all ages whose parents or grandparents have served in the United States Military.  

Sons of the American Legion:
The Sons of the American Legion is made up of men of all ages whose parents or grandparents have served in the United States Military. The Sons of the American Legion focus on the core values of the American Legion. 

Legion RidersLegion Riders 35
As of Janurary 2011, American Legion Post 35 has created their own Legion Riders. Legion Riders raise money for local groups, charities and our Veterans. Please refer to the link above!
Social Member:
If you have no military affiliation you may be eligible for a Social membership. To become a social member the applicant must fill out an application with a Legionnaire signature/recommendation and it will then be reviewed by the board.
