Un weekend de contra danse en Normandie avec les stars Will Mentor (caller) et Larry Unger & Karina Wilson (musiciens). Logement et tous les repas sur place dans un cadre très beau. http://www.moulinande.com/ Transport en bus de la gare de Val-de-Reuil assuré (samedi 27 mai, Paris Saint Lazare 10:54 -> Val-de-Reuil 12:23 et lundi 29 mai, Val-de-Reuil 16:30 -> Paris Saint Lazare 17:48). Tarifs : 320 euros par personne en chambre double, 420 en chambre individuelle pour les personnes qui ont déjà assisté à au moins une Paris Contra Dance, 420 ou 520 pour les autres. Les “contra-danses” de la Nouvelle Angleterre ont connu un grand renouveau depuis les années 1960s. Dans les villes telles que Boston, New York, Washington, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Austin, des bals attirent plus d’une centaine de danseurs.
Les “contra-danses” ont re-traversé l’Atlantique : des groupes sont présents en Allemagne, en Belgique, en République Czech, au Pays Bas, au Royaume-Uni...
Dynamique et moderne, le style ressemble un peu aux “set-danses” irlandais. Si vous savez déjà danser (danses irlandaises, anglaises, écossaises, françaises ou autre), venez ! Si vous ne savez pas encore danser, venez aussi, car ça s’apprend très très vite !

Les contra danses ont évolué en Nouvelle Angleterre puis se sont modernisées et se sont répandues dans le monde entier. Les débutants sont TRES bienvenus. Venez seul, en couple, en famille ! Suivez nous aussi sur Facebook (page Paris Contra Dance).
When English/French/Irish/Scottish set dancing crossed the Atlantic to New England, it evolved into a new style called contra dancing. Recently, this style has evolved further, picking up speedand taking elements from swing and rock. In the U.S., contra dances attract hundreds of participants of all ages.
While contra dancing has become popular in many parts of Europe, e.g. the UK, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Switzerland, it has remained relatively unknown in France.
Contra dancing is "called", meaning that each dance is made up of basic elements and each is quickly taught, then danced. Contra dances are open to participants of all ages and of all dancing levels.
