The ALACristina Sharing Program

Cristina - In 2022 me and a group of National and International musicians produced The Maestro Segovia Documentary of eight hours. I started this project in July and I executed the shows in four episodes of two hours each show. Producing the long distance shows it's getting better, there are some new projects coming in 2023 in the ALACristina Show.

Cristina - After few years of doing my show “Amenidades Latino Americans” presenting Latin American music as Flamenco, Andes, Latin jazz…, I received calls from professional they were not only interested in music but they interested history, art, poetry literature of the Hispanic culture so I open “The ALACristina Sharing Program” page in the Bay Area so people can share things that were important to them with the idea of educating people and help them to improve their live and be knowledgeable about different topics.

Cristina - Since 2013, I have created the “Sharing Program” exclusively for Bay Area/International professionals to present music, art, literature, and culture of the Hispanic culture world on Amenidades Latino Americanas page.

Cristina - In 2016 the ALACristina Show opened the doors to National and international musicians to showcase their music and produce with me long distance shows for the ALACristina Show

Over the last few years I have been creating some exciting shows with musicians from other parts of the world, years ago this idea was impossible but with today’s technology producing long distance show is a thing of the past.

I encourage musicians to take the opportunity to introduce their Latin music in the ALACristina show. Here in the Bay Area there is so much cultural diversity that people are always ready to hear something new and different.

Magic in the Moonlight

by Dina Corcoran

The telephone in the Nest Egg rang late at night. It was Bettie Greene from the stables, and according to Mother, she sounded as excited as a little kid at Christmastime.

“Charlotte! One of my mares is going to foal soon, and since it’s a full moon, I think tonight might be the night. She’s in the pasture down by the Mission. Do you want to come with me to watch the birth?”

Unbelievably, my mother did. She wasn’t eager to leave her warm and comfortable bed on this cold December night, but she said something in Bettie’s voice compelled her to go.

Our mother later related the story with reverence.

The two of them slipped quietly through the pasture gate and settled in the grass against the fence. After a respectful wait, Bettie walked over to the horse and gently felt her belly. Yes, tonight would be the night.

Mother and Bettie wrapped themselves in warm coats and sat on one of

the old smelly horse blankets Bettie had in her car. It would be a while. As their eyes adjusted to the darkness, their view expanded.

They could see beyond the pasture to hills draped with soft green velvet, a backdrop for the scene. The pregnant horse: a silhouette. All was silence except the occasional low whinny from the horse and Bettie’s little tchk-tcht sounds of encouragement in response.

Drifts of fog lifted, allowing the full moon to light the scene as if it were the Star of Bethlehem. The Carmel Mission sat in prayer behind them, a silent witness.

The labor progressed with Bettie’s encouragement. “There’s a good girl, Maggie. Easy does it.” When the foal was ready, he arrived with ease and grace; a perfect white star on his proud little forehead contrasted perfectly with his glistening black coat.

Bettie whispered, “I think I’ll call him ‘Magic’”.

Mother said she felt the world’s heart open in acceptance of this new soul.

His mother nuzzled him affectionately. Bettie cooed a tender welcome. My mother watched as a glow of virginal, child-like awe spread over the face of this no-nonsense horsewoman, and found herself speechless.

I was not there, but I will always remember this story of two women I love and admire witnessing a miracle together. comments.
