Research Interests:
Since January 1993, she holds a permanent position as Assistant Professor at the Politecnico of Torino. She directs the Image Processing for Physics and Environmental Studies (IPPES) Group. Her research activity deals with the experimental and theoretical physics. She has authored several articles in International Peer-Reviewed Journals. 
She is APS and SIF member.

2015 - Image  Processing nd ENTROPY
Maximizing entropy is a generally used approach in segmenting images. Besides the Shannon entropy, non-extensive entropies, such as Tsallis and Kaniadakis entropy, can be used for this purposes.

Topic: Image processing and satellite imagery analysis using fractional and variational calculation. This research unit covers modelling methods for image processing techniques based on variational and fractional approaches, which can be used in applied physics and in environmental studies, where any human interaction exists with the environment. In particular, the research unit is investigating, through the image processing of satellite imagery, the impact of ancient human activities on their local areas to create a built environment. The image processing used in this investigation was developed during some previous researches on the liquid crystal polarized light microscopy. Participants: A.C.
