Welcome to Amber Burgett's website

After spending the spring 2012 semester as a lecturer in the Biology Department at Washington University in St. Louis and as a post-doctoral researcher with Washington University's Teaching Center, I am very excited to begin a faculty position at Wittenberg University in Ohio this fall!
I conducted my dissertation work at WUSTL's Tyson Research Center. Much of my scientific research focuses on combining population and community ecology with landscape ecology to elucidate factors that influence species with complex life cycles. Additionally, I have a strong interest in science education and outreach. Within the courses I will be teaching, I look forward to expanding my research agenda to include projects that examine teaching strategies and methods to promote retention of knowledge and critical thinking skills within students.

Thanks for visiting my site!
