Fire of Hunger
Fire of Hunger
Jaipur 23 Oct 2011 Jaipur is a very popular tourist destination, foreigners stick out like a sore tumb and are often easy 'target' for beggars, street sellers, tour guides etc. During my recent trip, we came across this hindu temple just opposite to the bus stop (in the background) and decided to shoot a few frames. Out of the crowd came this old man charing like a speeding train - straight towards us. He could hardly walk - limping with the support of his walking stick, no shoes/slippers, torn clothes, glasses thicker than a hockey puck. But, despite his condition he had a different fire and glint in his eyes, fire to make a "quick buck" I thought. After chatting to him for a brief few seconds and giving him RS 20 (?0.2), I realised that the fire was perhaps the fire of hunger and poverty, something experienced by millions well below the poverty line.

Note Taking During OFA Guide Training
During Out For Adventure's Guide Training its imperative that guides make copious notes of the material presented. Slide shows and white boards are all part of the module. Sea kayaking guides are an extremely hard working group that take their job very seriously. Clients may be excused for thinking the job is so easy when they think of paddling all day and getting paid for it but these guys and girls have a lot of background work done well in advance.

Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide: Advice, Plans, and Programs for Half and Full Marathons
Especially in tough economic times, running offers an affordable and positive way to relieve stress
and gain a sense of accomplishment. Marathons and—more than ever—half-marathons are the ultimate achievement for runners and have experienced an unprecedented boom in the last several years.

New hunger for reliable information on marathon and half-marathon training, as well as new technologies that have revolutionized ordinary people’s ability to train intelligently, means the time is right for a new edition of longtime Runner’s World contributor Hal Higdon’s classic guide to taking the guesswork out of preparing for a marathon, whether it’s a reader’s first or fiftieth.

Since its original publication in 1993, Higdon’s definitive manual has sold over a quarter of a million
copies through all channels. The book is such a consistent seller for many reasons, but above and
beyond all the others is this one: It works. At the core of the book remains Higdon’s clear and essential information on training, injury prevention, and nutrition. With more than 25 percent new material, this fourth edition of a running classic will be a must-own for both longtime runners and those new to the sport.
