AMAT came out of a sleepless weekend of competition at SAE Aero Design West with success in the Advanced Class.
1st in Design
2nd in Presentation
Congratulations to our captains for putting together a winning report and presentation and to the entire team for bringing our aircraft together.
We will be having a CAD/design meeting on Thursday from 2:00-4:00pm in the AMAT room (Bainer 1334).
For all members planning to work on design and CAD, it is imperative that you attend this meeting. If you have chosen to work on a component of the aircraft, you are expected to showcase a preliminary design through either a CAD rendering software or physical drawings. If you do not plan on committing to the full design of your component, please let us know so that we may find someone else to help you with or take over your design. The deadlines for each component are serious to the completion of our project, and many deadlines are approaching in the coming weeks.
The first CAD/Design meeting will be held Wednesday January 23, 2013 at 6pm in the AMAT room (1334 Bainer). All team members who are interested in contributing to be design are encouraged to attend. We will discuss the design of several components and begin the process of producing a CAD model to use in our report.
The quarter has begun and AMAT is ready for full-gear status!
Build Meetings will be held twice a week during winter quarter in the Student Projects Area of the Engineering Fabrication Lab (1220 Bainer):
CAD and Design Meetings will take place weekly as needed and will be located in the AMAT room (1334 Bainer):
All team member are encouraged to attend and actively participate in as many meetings as possible regardless of experience level.
Weekly build meetings will be held every Thursday 1-4pm in the student projects section of the Engineering Fabrication Lab. Attendance is not mandatory, but build meetings are where you will benefit most from being an AMAT member by getting hands on experience working with materials and troubleshooting. All members are welcome but you must have completed the safety training first. If you would like to participate the build meetings but have not finished this training, please contact the captains at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be teaching new members, prototyping, and perfecting manufacturing techniques during Fall Quarter.
We hope to see you all there!
