Hanuman Temple en-route

Dang (also known as The Dangs) is a district in the state of Gujarat in India.

On 26th Dec post lunch drove from Surat towards Vyara and onwards to the base village Wari-rupgardh. Its approx 2.5 hours drive. Once you cross Vyara you enter the Dang Jungle region. Roads throughout are in good condition and the drive is a pleasant one. Distance wise it is approx 125Km from Surat.

Hired a local from the base village and started the trek at 8pm. The trek itself is preety easy and a short one but was a great walking under moonlight. Within 2.5 hours were at the camp site, next to a hanuman Mandir. We lit the fire & pitched our tents. Had packed dinner and tried shooting few stars in the sky with the camera before hitting the sack.

The next day after rising early we treked up 20min to the fort. This was constructed by Shivaji.  The previous night the local had advised us not to stay on top due to high velocity winds and lots of grass on the surface. The trek up to the top from the camp
site was a short upwards 20 min one. The fort was in
complete ruins, we spent time clicking photos and had b
reakfast on top and then treked back to the base village in 45min odd.
