2015 Graduation

Congratulations to Jeremy Reich and Victoria Catanzano, who graduated on May 15, 2015 with their B.S. degrees in chemistry.  Jeremy will be heading to the graduate program in Public Health at Emory University in the fall and Victoria will be finishing her M.S. in chemistry here at Villanova next year as part of the B.S.-M.S. program.  Congratulations to both of you on a job well done!

Congratulations to Alexis Fede who successfully defended her M.S. thesis in April!  She'll be heading off to law school at Seton Hall this fall - good luck Alex!

Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award

Congratulations to Dr. Grannas, who received the Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation.  She is one of only seven national recipients to receive the award. 2013 AGU Fall Meeting

Research from the Grannas group was presented at the fall national American Geophysical Union Conference in San Francisco, CA.  Work done by undergraduates Garrett Waligroski (photochemistry of pollutants) and Victoria Catanzano (characterization of organics in ice cores) was presented in a cryosphere session held on Monday, December 9, 2013.

M.S. Grad Congratulations

Congratulations to recent group graduate Lisa Pagano.  Lisa successfully defended her M.S. thesis on Monday, July 22, 2013.  Kudos to Lisa!  She is now working as an analytical chemist at Lancaster Labs in Lancaster, PA.

2012 AGU Outstanding Student Presentation Award

Congratulations to Jeremy Reich, who received an AGU Outstanding Student Presentation Award for his December 2012 poster presentation at the American Geophysical Union Meeting.  Kudos to Jeremy (a sophomore) who was competing against both undergraduate and graduate students for this award!

Fall 2012 American Geophysical Union Presentations

Congratulations to the entire group, who presented their research at the Fall 2012 national American Geophysical Union conference, in San Francisco, CA.   Alexis Fede, Rachel Bobby, Jeremy Reich, Lisa Pagano and Lauren Kurek all gave posters in the atmospheric sciences division.  Dr. Grannas gave two posters, one in atmospheric sciences and one in cryospheric sciences.  It was a productive week! 

Delaware Valley Science Council

Dr. Grannas was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Science Council.  This organization raises money and distributes it as scholarships to high achieving science and mathematics students from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
