Expectations:
To be completed during Preceptorship rotation at All Children's Hospital CVICU
Students will collaborate with unit leaders (nurse educator or manager) to develop Quality Indicator (QI) Project. The student should collaborate with unit leaders to determine a quality improvement need on their assigned unit and develop an intervention to address the identified area of improvement.Â
The intervention is expected to be evidence-based and should be utilized in the development of the project. The project can consist of a process improvement plan or staff education plan. Benchmarking data should be used in determining a measureable target outcome for the project.
The student is expected to confer with their clinical faculty when selecting the QI project topic and designing the intervention. The student is responsible to arrange a time for faculty to evaluate the completed project. The student will present this project to their unit or to students in other clinicals, but the presentation must be coordinated with the Instructor.
