What's new in your life?

I just finished my course work at BYU. I  will graduate this August with a Bachelor of Science in  Sociology and a minor in business mangement. This summer I am going with a BYU sociology group to Thailand for and internship teaching English for three months. I am going to be living by myself with a host family who doesn't speak English and I don't speak Thai. It should be interesting. In the middle of the intership I am going to be taking a three-week tour of Southeast Asia. I'm not sure where all we will be going, but for sure we will be going to Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma, and Laos. I will also be taking a week trip down to the south Thailand beaches which are apparently some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. After Thailand I fly straight to Mexico City to meet my Aunt Ellen and Uncle Mike. They will be taking me around Mexico for a week and a half. After Mexico I am going to come home and graduate!!!! Unfortunately I just realized that I will be in Mexico during comencement :( but I've decided to do my own comencement and rent out a church and have a really big party. You are all invited and should be receiving invitations in the mail. I am moving back to Provo and will have to find a job. Wahool. I am incredibly single, but now I have this blog so I don't need a boyfriend.

RANDOM GENERAL INFO

Why were you given your particular name?

My parents always liked the name "Elise", but there was a little girl in their ward who spelled her name "Alyse" and they liked that better. I like to believe that my parents picked the name "Janae" out of the blue and then because of my amazingness my aunt decided to name my younger cousin "Janae" after me. But I think the true story is that my mom heard that my aunt was going to name her baby "Janae" and my mom liked it so she stole it.

What is the strangest thing you ever did?

When I was in high school I had a crush on this boy and I wanted him to like me. On a random trip to Walmart this boy and his friends decided that they wanted drive around and pretend to barf out the windows using cottage cheese. So we went driving around and came to a huge intersection and in a moment of weakness I shoved a big spoonful of cottage cheese in my mouth, rolled down the window, and prepared to regurgitate. When all of the sudden I hear "Alyse? Hey Alyse!" I look to the car to the side of us and its a van full of a bunch of my friends, but it was too late. Slops of cottage cheese dropped out of my mouth and my friends watched in disgust. But I ended up dating the dude, so it wasn't a completely lost cause.
