Mr. G. “Ven” Venkatesh is currently Managing Member at Texan Ventures, an independent investment and consulting firm. He is an entrepreneur, executive, and investor, and serves on the Boards of private and public companies. Presently, he is on the Supervisory Board of Photon BV, a multinational company headquartered out of the Netherlands, where he serves as the Lead Director. Most recently, he was the Chairman of the Board at Broadlogic. He was responsible for the sale of the company to Broadcom in June 2012. He was on the Board of Ikanos Communication from December 2001 to August 2009, the last three years as Chairman.

He was the Chairman of the Board at Aarohi Communications (sold to Emulex in May 2006), Infravio (sold to webMethods in September 2006) and Matisse Networks. In his board roles, he has served on the compensation and strategic committees. He has also been called upon to take on interim CEO and Executive Chairman roles to assist the companies during difficult transition times.

Before founding Texan Ventures, he was Vice President for Switching Products at Broadcom Corporation. He was President and CEO of Maverick Networks, a company he founded in 1998 and was acquired by Broadcom in 1999. Maverick Networks was Broadcom’s first acquisition and one of the most successful ones to date. At Broadcom, he was responsible for establishing the company as the market leader in switching products as well as driving several successful acquisitions.

He has been a Resident Entrepreneur at Mayfield Fund and USVP, two leading Sand Hill Road Venture Capital firms. He was recruited by Mayfield to be the President and CEO of Silicon Light Machines, a company also funded by Institutional Venture Partners. Cypress Semiconductors acquired this company in 2000.

Prior to this, Mr. Venkatesh spent ten years at Adaptec, Inc. where he was a senior executive officer and guiding general manager of this rapidly growing high technology company.

He has a proven track record of nurturing companies and building profitable, high growth businesses. He has an M.S.E.E from the University of Massachusetts, and a B. Tech from IIT Madras, India.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Paul Larose has over 30 years experience managing a wide array of financial functions in technology companies. For the last 20 years, as interim CFO, he helped 30+ technology start-ups get funded and establish their finance and administrative function. A partial customers list includes Silicon Light Machines, Simplex Solutions, Crossbow Technology, Verticom, Maverick Networks, Tensilica, Matisse Networks and WiMM Labs. He was also Chief Financial Officer of Pandesic LLC, an internet infrastructure provider. Before starting his consulting practice, Paul was a Finance Manager at Intel where he managed several accounting, financial planning and cost accounting departments. Paul graduated from the University of Louvain, Belgium with a degree in Commercial Engineering and earned his Master in Business Administration at the Berkeley Haas School of Business.


Minh Huynh has over twenty-one (21) years of extensive experience in the IT field, including over fifteen years in supervisory and senior management positions. With more than eleven (11) years’ experience as a Director of Information Technology and Telecommunications. Minh has successfully provided the vision for company information systems, especially during important stages of organizational, cyber security and infrastructural growth.  Minh is a veteran with Soc/Soc 2, ISO27001, compliance and ICS-Cert with Homeland Security. Minh is familiar with defensive and offensive Cyber Security. Minh has worked in special security project for California Lottery, Department of Defense, Visa, and American Express.Minh had a BA with San Jose State University, a Unix System Administration certificate with University of California Santa Cruz, and an Instructor in Unix device driver.

Business Development-Advisor
Yu-Ping “Y.P.” Cheng is a +40-year veteran of computer storage, communications, and networking industries.  He started his career with IBM and was involved in the development work of various mainframe 14” disk drive and controller devices. His responsibility was in firmware which deals with drive motor, read/write channel and data movement of a controller device.
After leaving IBM, Mr. Cheng participated in many startup companies in Silicon Valley.  He joined Adaptec and was responsible for various SCSI disk drive controllers of IBM Personal Computers.  Thereafter, he was with Auspex responsible for the software effort of NFS file servers.  Mr. Cheng founded AdvanSys, a SCSI controller chip company, and was both V.P. Engineering and CTO.  He was Chief Scientist at both Maranti Networks and Matisse Networks where he defined the initial products for both companies.  Mr. Cheng holds a number of patents in the areas of computer storage and network.
Mr. Cheng is Vice President of System Architecture of Intelasys Corporation, formerly known as AsyncArray Devices.

Currently, YP Cheng is the CEO of LuminoThera, and the Founder, President, and CEO of Phileoever Foundation, www.phileoever.org, a private charitable organization.

YP Cheng had an MBA, San Jose State University, Ph.D. Study in UCLA, an MS in Computer Science Engineering in University of Los Angeles, and BS in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University,

Brian Liu, one of LegalZoom co-founders, has served on board of directors since 1999, and twice served as its Chairman. Mr. Liu was LegalZoom CEO from 1999 to 2007. Prior to LegalZoom, Mr. Liu was a corporate attorney with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Assistant Vice President—Legal with Oaktree Capital Management, LLC. Mr. Liu graduated from U.C. Berkeley, Phi Beta Kappa, and with honors, in Biochemistry and received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law. He is a member of the California Bar.
