BALL CROWNED UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS AFTER DEFEATING GRITTY TVO
February 20th 2011

{ball} run out winners in the final of the end of season playoffs after a gritty but weary TvO side succumbed to a 4-0 defeat.  There were a few moments of tension as TvO threatened in the final game on cave, but a final golden goal provided {ball} with the honours of being the first clan to retain the highly coveted Sky League Cup.  TvO had previously been on a terrific run having come through two BO5 matches on their way to the final, with 3-0 victories over both {arr} and twisted.  Although it will be of little consolation to TvO who claim the runners-up spot for a third time in succession.

Congratulations to {ball} and many thanks to all the teams for taking part in what has been a successful competition.  Also a special thanks goes to CCN for his organization.

TOP 4 PROGRESS TO CUP PLAYOFF IN EVENT 5
February 13th 2011

In the final SL3 Event 5, all four of the current table leaders progressed to the cup finals. Ball comfortably won all the games in their group to avoid the discomfort of the nervy tiebreakers played last sunday.  Twisted however slipped up against the improving TVO 3-6 in the group stages who had earlier been shocked by a stubborn AIR team 6-5.  This lead to some crucial tiebreakers in group 2, with Twisted, TvO and AIR competing for first and second spot in the group.  Group 1 was hampered by a few default wins due to lack of players.  This also ended up with a tiebreaker between Aces High, Sky Pirates and Team This Team That.

The Group 1 tiebreakers were dominated by sky pirates, who defeated Aces High 6-4 and then Team This Team That 6-4 to book 2nd spot in the group and qualify for the cup finals.  In Group 2, Twisted opened up with a 6-3 win over AIR before being whitewashed by their group nemesis TvO 6-0.  TvO went on to grab top spot with a 6-2 win over AIR.  Twisted picked themselves up to win 6-2 over AIR and book a crucial clash with Ball in the cup semis.

BALL EDGE SHOWDOWN WITH ARR TO WIN 15 MINUTE CONTEST
January 17th 2011

Ball edged past the Sky Pirates 7-5 after a tight contest in the final of SL3 week 3.  Arr were looking in free scoring form coming into the final off the back of a fantastic 13-5 win over last weeks runners-up tVo.  Ball hadn't had it all their own way in the build up after being given a scare by Eight Ball in the prelims, but a final goal in the last 10 seconds sent them through.  A good win against Aces High, and a 6-3 win against the current leaders twisted set up the finale with arr.

TVO IN A SPIN AS TWISTED CONTINUE RUN
January 10th 2011

Twisted continued their devastatingly good form as they claimed the second event with a 2-1 victory in the final match over a much improved tVo side giving them a commanding 10 point lead in the rankings.  The ball holding tactics of the randas combined with the sharp killing skills from the rest of the team proved too much to handle for all teams.  tVo had previously beaten {ball} in the penultimate round in a tight game which finished 6-5, and {arr} 6-1 in the previous round before that.

Elsewhere we also had a first major shock of the competition with a strong Aces High side being knocked out early on by the improving FC 6-5, giving them their first match win in the competition.

TWISTED STORM TO VICTORY IN SKY LEAGUE OPENER
January 2nd 2011

Twisted pulled off a tremendous performance over {ball} in the first SL3 tournament event with a tight 6-5,6-5,6-5 win.  Both teams looked to be in good form heading into the final game with both sides not having lost any games on route to the final.   Each game was highly competitive in the final with both teams creating an intensive atmosphere, but it was twisted who showed they had the composure to finish on the winning side.  In the third place playoff, the Sky Pirates went down 4-6,3-6,6-3,2-6 to the impressive Aces High putting in their best performance on the competitive scene.  You can see the full results from the first event here and the updated rankings here.

Welcome to the altitude sky league website which will provide team information, match fixtures and results and links to any videos of the games.

Every Week or Two Weeks (e.g we will skip Christmas) there will be tournaments, of different types and values (from quick fire BO1's to slugfest Bo3's), worth points for placing 1st/2nd/3rd/Quarters/Participation. These points will go into a table which will seed you into the playoffs and decide regular season champions, where you can then win the SKYLEAGUE 3 Mantle. The lowest 4-6 teams will also get their own playoffs (along with participating in the regular ones) for the Silver Cup Award.

You are NOT required to participate every tournament, but if you register you will be EXPECTED to show up, not showing up will likely mean exclusion from future signups until a talk between the team/admins can determine them not screwing up future brackets. Points will be awarded for particpation and more points for moving up ever step int he ladder. The preseason tourneys will not be seeded.

*Currently Set for 4 pre-season tournaments*
