Welcome to the Chlorite Project Tracking Workspace
This project is an attempt to find whether oral administration of Sodium Chlorite (NaClO2) can be an effective analogue to the IV administration used in the Neuraltus NP001 Phase 2 trial for efficacy in ALS. Information on trial can be found at clinicaltrials.gov. Additional technical information can be found here and here.
Note that this is NOT intended to be a treatment or cure for any condition, nor is it intended to be a substitute for NP001. This is merely a project for patients who don't qualify for the trial to also "participate". This site is in no way affiliated with Neuraltus.
Project protocol can be found on the Project Documents page (note protocol slightly differs from NP001 protocol in days of active drug ingestion in order to minimize gastrointestinal upset). Please also find and use the NaClO2-Log-Template for reporting your progress.
Chlorite is thought to bring macrophages (white blood cells) from a toxic "attack" activated state to an alternative "nurture" activated state which promotes tissue healing and regeneration. A simplified picture can help explain:
