Mission
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Vision
Leading women educators impacting education worldwide.  

Purposes

To UNITE women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship.

To HONOR women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education.

To ADVANCE the professional interest and position of women in education.

To INITIATE, ENDORSE and SUPPORT desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interest of education and of women educators.

To ENDOW scholarship to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to nonmember women educators.

To STIMULATE the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate program of action.

To INFORM the members of current economic, social, political and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society.

Tennessee State President  2021 - 2023

Dr. Elaine Vaughan has an extensive service record at the chapter, state and international levels. A 14-year member of Delta Kappa Gamma (Alpha Epsilon chapter in Oak Ridge), she has served as chapter president and treasurer and on chapter membership, finance, strategic plan and new teacher outlook committees.

At the state level, Vaughan has previously served as TNSO First Vice-President and TNSO Corresponding Secretary. She has chaired the state Educational Excellence Committee, Special Events Committee, Vision Foundation Board and is a Visionary for the State Organization. She is a graduate of the Tennessee State Beginning Leadership Management Seminar and the Advanced Leadership Management Seminar.

She is a recipient of a DKG International scholarship as well as a TNSO scholarship. She is a graduate of the Golden Gift Leadership Management Seminar and is a DKG International Educators Foundation Luminary.
