Dear Alpha Sisters,

Spring has finally arrived and the countdown to the end of the school year begins. We had our last meeting of the year and met our Grant-In-Aid recipient. (She is a delightful young lady from Secaucus.)

Along with our usual Schools from Africa and Girls Love Mail, Emily and Shannon arranged for us to create backpacks and school supplies for a homeless shelter which Shannon has been supporting. We did this last year and it was a great success.

We shared the information about the 2018 International Convention in Austin, TX this summer and reviewed the proposed changes that will be voted on there. Finally, we installed our new slate of officers for the 2018-2020 biennium. Now there’s a startling date!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support during the past two years during which I was Alpha’s president. They say it takes a village to raise a child; it definitely takes a village to keep an organization growing and thriving. Without Alpha’s ‘village’ the officers and I could not have been successful. Alpha sisters are always there to lend a hand! I know you will continue to support our new leadership.

Hope to see you all there!!
